Camosun College

Camosun College is located in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. Our two campuses serve approximately 12,500 learners (8,600 full-time equivalents) registered in degree, diploma and certificate programs and a further 7,400 registrants in courses offered through our continuing education department. Each year Camosun welcomes over 500 Aboriginal students from 50 Nations including Métis and Inuit groups, and over 700 International students.

The college welcomed its first students in 1971 and adopted the name “Camosun”, a local Lekwungen (Songhees) First Nation name meaning “where different waters meet and are transformed.” Today, Camosun College offers a surprising array of innovative programs to help meet the needs of students and communities in Victoria and beyond. Our education offerings include university transfer and applied degree programs; career and trades training; upgrading and preparatory programs; and continuing education.

Initially established by the government of British Columbia in 1981, Kwantlen, now Kwantlen Polytechnic University, has four campuses located in the Metro Vancouver region of British Columbia. The College of New Caledonia (CNC) is a publicly-funded post-secondary institution. It was established in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada in 1969, and has since expanded across central British Columbia, with campuses in Prince George, Quesnel, Mackenzie, Burns Lake, Valemount, Fort St. James, Fraser Lake and Vanderhoof.

CNC enrolls about 5,000 students each year (all campuses) in approximately 90 distinct programs in business and management, community and continuing education, health sciences, adult basic education / upgrading, trades and industry, social services, and technologies.

As well, CNC offers university-level classes leading to degrees and professional programs in many subjects, with excellent transferability to universities in BC, Alberta, and elsewhere.

As of October 16th 2009 Health officials have confirmed that the 8th victim of the H1N1 virus is a 26 year old female in southern BC. The young mother passed away on Sunday October 11th just two days after being admitted to the Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

Northwest Community College


Northwest Community College (NWCC) was first established in 1975 in Terrace, British Columbia. From this beginning 33 years ago, there has been a gradual establishment of College Campuses in many of the communities in the Pacific Northwest region to serve the changing needs of the communities. There are now six campuses and an additional four community learning centres located within the College region.

Northwest Community College’s region encompasses 104,689 square kilometres with a combined population of approximately 83,000 people. This region is home to the northwest region of the Metis Nation and seven First Nations whose students make up over 44% of the College's student population. Their participation in the College serves to enrich the cuture of the College community and strengthen its connection and relevance to the area. The College region's geographic boundaries are defined by Haida Gwaii on the West, Houston on the East, Stewart on the North, and a less defined Southern boundary about 800 km due north of Vancouver.

Okanagan College



Okanagan College is a public, comprehensive, post secondary educational institution that was established under the provisions of the College and Institute Act (2004). Okanagan College offers a wide variety of career, continuing education, degree, developmental, trades and technologies, university transfer, and vocational programs. The region served by Okanagan College covers 37,750 square kilometers, and extends from Osoyoos and Princeton in the south and west to Mica Creek and Revelstoke in the north and east.

In response to the Minister's Access for All initiative in 1989, the mandate of Okanagan College was expanded to provide baccalaureate degrees, in partnership with established universities. During the next two years Okanagan College introduced third and fourth year courses leading to degrees in Arts and in Science in partnership with the University of British Columbia, and in Education and in Nursing in partnership with the University of Victoria. To reflect this new mandate, the name Okanagan University College was adopted in 1992.
