The Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College (HFRCMC) is established in the year 2000 with an objective to meet up the lack of medical graduates in the field of medical science. This medical college is a project of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) and run under its authority and control. It starts its journey with 50 students during the school year 1999-2000. Presently this medical College has 528 students and 3rd batch has already qualified as doctors and undergoing internship training at HFRCMCH. The Holy Family Red Crescent Medical college (HFRCMC) performed excellent result in the 3rd professional MBBS examination in the year 2002 and also on the subsequent years among all the Medical Colleges under Dhaka University due to its skilled management system, latest educational instruments, and well trained teaching stuff. From the school year 2002-2003 classes are taken using computers, multimedia and projectors for effective delivery of lecturers. The concept of a Medical College exclusively for women is not a new one, particularly in our socio-cultural background. There are exemples of such medical colleges in neighboring countries. There is already an awareness in the society for the enhancement of technical education in the female population the Bangladesh Government has already taken positive steps in the field of teachers training in education sector. At sen present the female quota of admission in medical colleges is far too low and as such many a talented girls could not be admitted in this noble profession. Moreover ther are conservative families who want to educate their children in an atmosphere like this.
The proposed hospital, of this Medical College will ultimately cater for 500 beds with all specialties like Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, Kidney Unit, Neuro-surgical Unit etc. The Hospital will provide the laboratory facilities and the immunization facilities to the society. It will add to a demand in the Health Services to the people and will also save foreign travels and foreign exchange in near future. This whole project is a non-profit voluntary social work & self income generating. The source of income is from trustee fund and later on voluntary donations, students tuition fees and development charges, patients payments for hospital treatment, NGOs and from any other legal sources when offered.

Sylhet a land hallowed by the memories of great saint Hazrat Shahjalal Yemeni (R), has been full of social, cultural and educational tradition from very early times. But in course of time these traditions are fading away. The literacy rate was falling dreadfully and mass people were deprived of adequate health care facilities. The primary objective of Sapporo Dental College and Hospital (SDCH) is to promote the level of dental education and heath care in Bangladesh by increasing the number of well trained oral health professionals in the country. At present the number of graduate dentists in for population of over 150 million, the dentist patient ratio being one of the lowest in the world. The past few decades have witnessed tremendous development worldwide in the field of oral health in general and in various disciplines of dentistry in particular. Unfortunately, Bangladesh could not benefit from these developments mainly due to inadequate planning and misdistribution of resources.
The initiative to set up Sapporo Dental College and Hospital was taken in 1993 by a group of dental graduates with a view to develop oral health-care facilities in Bangladesh in line with global standards of scientific and technological development and proficiency achieved in this field. Initially, this group of dentists having higher education in Japan and the US with specialization in different branches of clinical dentistry started a dental clinic named.
In order to make the services available to a greater number of people, other dentists competent in different fields of specialization joined Sapporo Dental Care. In this context, it would be appropriate to state that Sapporo Dental College and Hospital (SDCH) is a natural transformation of Sapporo Dental Care. The institute is aimed at elevation the level of dentistry in Bangladesh by offering standard and methodical dental education to students as well as to provide efficient and caring treatment to dental patients. Eventually, dentists educated and trained in the SDCH are expected to spread all over the country to meet the oral health needs of the people.
